J-UNK launches model made of recycled fire hoses
This month, J-UNK presented the J-SNEAKER PATCHWORK, a sneaker mostly made of hoses damaged in fires.
J-UNK was the first footwear brand in the world to use damaged fire hoses. This material is present in all the brand’s models, but always with a smaller representation compared to other materials.
The brand follows the values of slow fashion and its priority is to make the most of the resources it has available, which is why the idea for J-SNEAKER came about.
This model was made using a method called “patch work”, which results from joining several pieces with different shapes to form a kind of puzzle, which in this case was made up of pieces of hoses.
The use of environmentally friendly materials doesn’t stop at the outside, the lining is made of fabric from bamboo and recycled polyamide. The sole is made of SBR rubber with 15% recycled hose.
The J-SNEAKER is a unique piece! Only one model was made in size 42, which is available in the J-UNK online store and at Shoelutions.Store.
